Healtheory
Diet/nutritional information and lifestyle tracking app

Overview
This project was a part of the University of Minnesota's UX UI Design Course. I worked alongside four other designers in order to create a mobile app concept from end to end. We wanted to focus on a concept that was able to solve a problem that many people face on a daily basis. We started with brainstorming product ideas to expanding it into a research-backed, working prototype within a project timeline of 3 weeks.
My Role
User research, wireframing, prototyping, style guide, user interface and interaction design, user testing
Tools
Illustrator, Photoshop, and Figma
Why Healtheory?
All of us on the design team followed a specific diet, had food allergies, or knew someone that was affected by dietary restrictions. It is a common, daily struggle to plan your next meal but even more difficult when you need to work around specific dietary needs.
With Healtheory, users are able to easily plan their meals based on diet preferences, learn more about specific diets and their benefits, and maintain a healthy lifestyle with daily tracking features.
Initial Thinking
People with dietary restrictions are experiencing decision fatigue when planning their next meals. For those who are looking to try a new diet, there is an overabundance of blogs, websites, and articles when searching for recipes and nutritional information surrounding their search.
Proto-persona
In order to align the team's thinking and overall goals for the app, we created Mariah Scott as a target user.
